Our Feature

Highscope Curriculum

Our school uses HighScope for our curriculum and integrates it with weekly themes. This gives us the flexibility to modify the curriculum in order to cater to each student’s needs and interests. We focus on the four main categories of development: social/emotional, physical, cognitive and language. By utilizing the HighScope Key Developmental Indicators teachers at Bright Start are able to meet the educational needs of all the students including advanced learners and students with special needs.

Kindergarten

Our Kindergarten class offers a small class size which allows us to give more one on one attention to each child. We are able to give each student the warmth and support of a preschool program while maintaining the high standards expected from a Kindergarten student. To help ease the transition to public school our curriculum aligns with the Common Core Curriculum.

Field Trips

Here at Bright Start learning happens not only in the classroom but also outside of it! From going on a hayride to pick pumpkins to visiting the library for Read Across America week our students have numerous opportunities throughout the year to explore the world around them on one of our fun filled, educational field trips!

Grow NJ Kids

We are a proud participant in the Grow NJ Kids initiative. Grow NJ is a childcare initiative that strives to raise the quality of child care and learning. With various assessments and observations Grow NJ helps childcare centers improve the quality of their programs and puts into place a system that encourages continued improvement.

Enrichment Classes

Included with your child’s tuition are three amazing enrichment programs! Every week our students have fun singing a song in our music class, tumbling and flipping in our gymnastics class, and learning how to block and kick in our karate class!

Qualified Teachers

The early childhood staff at the center serves as an integral part of each child’s family by recognizing the need for nurturing and respecting children’s own level and rate of development. Through their many years of experience and continuing education your child’s teacher will see your child daily, plan activities to promote your child’s individual skills and abilities, and help bridge the gap between dependence on adult help to becoming an independent individual.

Gymnastics and Karate

Let the Learning Begin

Gymnastics and Karate: Gross motor development is a major component of each child’s day at Bright Start. To help develop strong muscles we offer two weekly gross motor enrichment classes: Karate and Gymnastics.

Gymnastics Class: Once a week our gymnastics class helps each child develop their balance, agility, focus, and gross motor skills. By running, tumbling, jumping, and balancing your child will strengthen their developing muscles and learn the importance of an active lifestyle.

Karate Class: Your little martial artist will block, punch and kick every week with Master Marcel and Master Nancy from Invictus Fitness and Martial Arts. Students learn the importance of self-control and increase their physical coordination and mental discipline.

Music Class

Learning rhythm, tempo, and movement are just some of the fun activities that we cover in our weekly music class! Music helps accelerate brain development and helps students develop strong math skills by counting the beat and playing the rhythm. From playing rhythm instruments to singing along with the acoustic guitar it has never been easier to teach our little learners how to appreciate the arts.

Arts and Crafts

Students are able to express their inner artist through a variety of art mediums such as paint, glitter, play dough, stickers, crayons, stencils, feathers, googly eyes, and more! Our students are able to experience various teacher guided art projects that correlate with our weekly theme or should they wish they can create their own mini masterpiece!

Color mixing, magnets, fossils, digging and experimenting are just a few of the activities our students enjoy in the Science Area. Even the tiniest of scientist can find something exciting to explore in each classrooms Sand and Water Tables.
